We, Simon and Elizabeth Phillips with our daughters, Katie and Sophie own a family farm on the White Cliffs of Dover. We have two sheepdogs. Meg and Tib and a Jack Russell called Pippa. Teddy is the Shetland Pony and Dolly is a cob.

If you are crossing on a ferry to France you will see our farm and our flock of Suffolk Cross ewes grazing the grassy banks either side of the A2 (Jubilee Way) as you go down the hill to the docks.

The farm is a 200 acre grassland farm supporting 400 ewes and producing hay and haylage for the equestrian market.

The farm is in the Higher Level Stewardship Scheme to conserve and enhance the chalk grassland on the North Downs.

We also have an area of farm which is a “Scene of Special Scientific Interest” on which butterflies and orchids grown.

No fertilisers or sprays are applied to these areas and they are farmed to improve their biodiversity.
